Andrew Hounsell
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Andrew Hounsell joined County in March 2013 having previously been a financial adviser in the banking industry. Andrew is Managing Director and feels privileged to be responsible for the County Team. His broad area of expertise includes financial planning, investment and ‘at retirement advice’. Andrew loves supporting clients in achieving their objectives and making a difference to their lives. He has been awarded a Statement of Professional Standing by the Institute of Financial Services.
Andrew is married to Liz and they have three children. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys running and cycling, playing touch rugby and getting away to see the odd Formula 1 race now and again.
QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Financial Advice (DipFA) • Certificate for Financial Advisers (CeFA) • Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) • Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER) • Member of the Institute of Financial Services.
Simon Tuson
FINANCIAL ADVISER
Simon Tuson joined County in August 2014, having previously worked as a Bank Manager and Financial Consultant for Lloyds Bank. His areas of expertise include pension and investment planning, family protection and financial modelling. He has a particular passion for helping clients with making key life decisions through County’s ‘Comprehensive Financial Planning’ service, which covers all aspects of financial planning.
Simon and his wife, Emma, have two daughters. In Simon's spare time he plays badminton, guitar and composes music.
QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Financial Advice (DipFA) • Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) • LLB (Hons) Law.
Jonathan Powell
FINANCIAL ADVISER
Jonathan Powell joined County in May 2022, having previously worked as a Wealth manager and Business development manager at Barclays Bank. He loves supporting clients in achieving their strategic financial objectives.
Jonathan is married with 3 children and lives locally in Chalfont St Peter, is an active member of Goldhill Baptist Church and is a keen cyclist having completed 5,000 km in 2021.
QUALIFICATIONS: Financial planning certificate (FPC) • Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) • BA(Hons) Economics.
Sue Croucher
PARAPLANNER/BACK OFFICE MANAGER
Sue Croucher is our paraplanner and back office manager and also deals with the office software and project work. She began work in the financial services industry with AXA Equity & Law in 1989 and joined County in 1998. Sue is an accredited paraplanner and associate member of the CISI.
Sue has two children who keep her busy and in her spare time enjoys spending time with friends and family.
QUALIFICATIONS: Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) • IFP Certificate in Paraplanning (APP) • Advanced Planning Certificate (AFPC).
Sheena Cannon
PENSIONS EXECUTIVE
Sheena Cannon has worked at County for a number of years and provides pensions support to Andrew Hounsell and Simon Tuson along with the administration of group pension schemes.
Sheena is married to John and has two daughters and two grandsons. In her spare time, Sheena enjoys going to the gym, walking, holidays in the sun and spending time with family and friends.
Claudia Allen
CASHFLOW PLANNING SUPPORT SUPERVISOR
Claudia Allen joined County in November 2014. She is personal assistant and executive support to Andrew Hounsell, does cashflow planning and is the contact for discretionary fund managers.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Bethany Talks
CASHFLOW PLANNING SUPPORT
Bethany Talks joined County in June 2011. She provides executive support for Simon Tuson and does cashflow planning.
Bethany is married to Matthew and they have two young children. In her spare time she is involved in youth work at her local church and enjoys dining out.
Penny Wilson
EXECUTIVE SUPPORT
Penny Wilson joined County in December 2001 and provides secretarial and administrative support to the advisers.
Penny is married to Bev and is now a proud grandmother to two grandsons, Flynn and Oscar. Her spare time is quite busy with regular visits to her daughter in Hove, walking the dog at home in Amersham, gardening and tending her shared allotment.
Maria Langford
TRAINEE FINANCIAL ADVISER
Maria Langford joined County in January 2023 in the role of Trainee Financial Adviser. Maria will be working towards achieving her Diploma in Financial planning with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
In her spare time, Maria enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out at her local gym, travelling and reading.
Phoenix O’Neill
EXECUTIVE SUPPORT
Phoenix O’Neill joined County Financial at the beginning of January 2023 as a Personal Assistant and Executive Support to Simon Tuson.
Phoenix enjoys producing music, song writing, singing and composing her own music, which she performs for fun in the Hertfordshire music circuit, during her spare time. Phoenix comes from a family full of artists, musicians and authors and she also has a strong interest in reading, writing, and drawing/painting.
Josh Scarborough
EXECUTIVE SUPPORT
Josh Scarborough joined County in May 2022 to undertake a special project and he was then invited to join the Executive Support team with effect from January 2023. In his spare time, Josh loves watching any kind of sport and spending time with family. He also enjoys wearing his shorts all year round, even in sub-zero temperatures, much to the consternation of the rest of the team!
Peter and Miriam Green
DIRECTORS
Peter and Miriam were the founders of County Financial in 1985. They set out for the business to be a beacon of light in a murky financial world. Having faithfully served the business for 30 years, they handed over the running of the business to Andrew and retired to Bude, Cornwall in September 2015. Peter and Miriam have maintained their connection with the business as directors and Peter is the Chairman of the County Trust.
Peter and Miriam are enjoying having much more spare time on their hands, especially as it means they can see lots more of their grandchildren.
